- Is there public transportation to Rathdrum?
Yes, both the train and bus serve Rathdrum town. Please see our Directions page and look under bus/train timetables. - Directions to Hidden Valley Park from the train station?
When you arrive to Rathdrum walk out of the train station and up the hill. When you get to the road turn right down the hill. Walk to the bottom of the hill passing the petrol station on your left. Before you cross the river turn left down the road in front of the large apartment complex and alongside the river. This road will lead you to Hidden Valley Park. - Is there a local town nearby?
Yes, Rathdrum town is within walking distance to the park. The town offers restaurants, takeaways, pubs and shops. - How far is Hidden Valley Park from the ferry ports?
Dublin Port is approx. 1 hr and 30 min away. Dun Laoghaire is approx. 1 hr awayRosslare is approx. 1 hr and 40 min away. Please see our Directions page for directions to Hidden Valley Park from these ferry ports.
General Park Questions
- Do you have a shop on site?
The Lakehouse restaurant and ice cream parlour is located on site. We also have a Takeaway open in high season. - Is there security on site?
Yes, we have security on site. The park has a noise curfew at 10 p.m. - Do you have a noise curfew?
Yes, we have a noise curfew at 10 p.m. All children should be in there units and under adult supervision by 10 p.m. - Is there a cost for showers?
Yes, the showers cost € 1.00 for approx. 7 minutes. - Is there electric hookup for tents?
Yes, we offer both electric sites and non-electric sites for tents. Electric sites must be pre-booked. - Are there facilities for children?
Yes, we have a large outdoor playground, football, kayaks, bumper boats, paddle boats, water balls, bungee trampolines, rock wall, combat laser tag, adventure mini golf, fishing, and Splash Valley Aqua Park (Ireland’s largest aqua park with over 30 obstacles). - Do you offer super sites for caravans and motorhomes?
Yes, all of our pitches are supersites offering electric, water and waste hookup. - Do you get TV reception?
Yes, we get TV reception, however non local TV’s may need a connection for the back of their TV to pick up our local frequency. - Are dogs allowed?
2023 Season: Dogs are welcome to come caravan and camping as long as they are kept on a lead at all times, picked up after and supervised by an adult at all times. We do not allow pets inside any of our accommodations.2024 Season: Dogs are no longer permitted on site during the months of July and August. Outside the months of July and August, dogs are welcome to come caravan and camping as long as they are kept on a lead at all times, picked up after and supervised by an adult at all times. - What time is check-in/out?
Camping check-in and out is 12pm. Check-in for accommodation is 4pm, however you can arrive earlier to avail of the facilities. Checkout time for accommodation is 11am. - Can we have a campfire?
No, open fires are not permitted. You can however use a barbecue or purpose bought fire pit (coals only and no timber burning). These must be extinguished by 10pm and remain under adult supervision at all times. - Can friends visit us?
We are a private family park. All visitors must book a Day Pass to enter the park. - Is there a petrol station nearby?
Yes, there is a self-service petrol station just up the road and payment is by card only. - Is there drinking water on site?
Yes, all water taps on site dispense drinking water. - Is there somewhere to prepare food?
Yes, the camper’s kitchen has counters, wash-up sinks and hobs for cooking. The hobs take €1 coins. - Is there washing facilities on site?
Yes, we have both washers and dryers on site located at the Amenity Block. - Can we pick our own camping pitch?
Yes camping pitches are first come, first serve. - Can we camp beside our friends?
Yes, you can camp beside your friends, but please note all families pay a €50 refundable noise deposit. This deposit is returned on checkout as long as there are no issues with noise. - Can we bring an extra car?
Yes, an extra car permit is €5 per day. - Do you have security on site?
Yes, we have security on site. Before making a booking for our family park, it is important for families to understand that we have a zero tolerance policy. Hidden Valley is a quiet, respectable, family-run park. We cater for couples and families with children. We DO NOT cater for adult/teen groups, hens/stags or those who are looking to stay up at night past our strict family curfew. We have a strict noise curfew from 10 p.m. and we DO NOT tolerate any behaviour at any time that disturbs neighbouring families (including, but not limited to, foul language, rowdy behaviour etc.). If you book and you cannot follow the Park’s Rules, then you will be asked to leave with no refund. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Glamping Questions
- What appliances are in the lodges?
There is a toaster, small fridge and kettle. - Are pillows and duvets provided?
No, you must supply your own sleeping equipment (duvets, pillows, sleeping bags, linens, towels, etc.). - How many people can sleep in one lodge?
The Mini Lodges have two double beds and one single bed (5 people). The Loft House Lodges have two double beds and two single beds (6 people). - Is there a bathroom?
The Loft House Ensuite Lodge has a toilet and sink. The other types of glamping lodges do not have a toilet and sink. The Amenity Block nearby provides toilets, showers and sinks. - Is there parking?
Yes, you can park one car beside the lodge. Extra cars need to be parked in the car park subject to availability and require a parking permit (€5 per day). - What is your refund policy?
